Your teacher will give you appropriate modifications, just let them know how far along you are. Pilates is an amazing way to prepare for labour and post-partum, we recommend it to everyone! If you have specific concerns, another great option is our 1 one 1 sessions, where you’ll have the undivided attention of your instructor. If you have any other questions regarding pregnancy and Pilates, flick us an email on info@matworksnz.com and we’d be happy to help!Generally modifications to exercises become second nature once you are in your second and third trimester, but below are a few tips of things to avoid :~ Lying on your back for prolonger periods of time (5+ minutes)~ Full plank~ Traditional crunches~ Traditional crunches with rotation (oblique work)~ Extension of both legs when lying on your back~ Lying prone (face down)~~#pilatesforpregnancy #postpartumpilates #prenatalpilates #pregnancypilates #pregnancypilatesclasses
